Cooking oils for skincare

We're in a recession and watching our money so what better way to save than to spend a few pounds on a skincare product that's just as effective as one bought for £300. And, what's more, it's much more fun and naughty to use things that we don't normally use! So, here are my top tips for you to start utilising what's at your fingertips and be more resourceful with products you use everyday. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Olive Oil is great for dry, chapped skin anywhere on the body as it is moisturising, softening and protective.

Olive Oil is a cheap and effective massage oil. Blend your favourite essential oils in for a beautiful aroma.

Coconut Oil is an excellent hair conditioner for dry hair, promoting glossiness and bounce - especially if left on over night.

Coconut oil is a great bath oil and means you can moisturise and nourish your skin effortlessly.

Sunflower Oil is very nourishing for the skin and can help to reduce the size of pores on the face and protect your skin from the glare of your computer. Mix a little with your everyday cream or oil for lasting results.

Janey Lee Grace recommends the ethically traded Coconoil from Sri Lanka which is availabe from www.coconoil.com. I've tried it and it's brill!

I would recommend buying your oils from www.aromantic.co.uk as they are excellent quality. But, a good quality cooking oil can be used for your skin and haircare. You can buy them from your local supermarket!
